Greg's 30!

Tuesday was Greg's birthday. He's finally 30 just like me! We celebrated with breakfast out, before school, and then a BBQ dinner out with our friend Joy.
I also picked up a double chocolate ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery. Evangeline loved the cake and singing happy birthday to Daddy 20 or so times throughout the day.

Apple Season

I sit here as a great Apple pie is baking in the oven. All the windows are open and the smell of Fall fills the air. We got about 25 pounds of apples yesterday on our trip to the Apple and Alpaca Farm in Mexico. Here's a few photos from our adventure. After the trip we had dinner at a place called Porky's in Mexico. It was home cooked BBQ and pies. Absolutely delicious and all homemade. Great food and all the taxidermy you could wish for (lol). Then we came home for some back yard time. Greg made a fire and Evangeline chased Wylie around the yard. It was a great day.

Grandma Carri's Visit

Here's a book of photos from Grandma Carri's Labor Day weekend visit. We had a great time at the St. Louis Zoo, at the Splash park and St. Louis arch park during her visit. We also got to watch Greg complete his second Heart of America Marathon. Go Greg! Anyhow enjoy the photo book below.

London Town

So I just realized that I never published a blog about our trip to London. It was a wonderful experience, and I loved that Evangeline got to join Greg and I on our trip. We left on Father's day out of St. Louis and flew over night which worked great for Evangeline's schedule.

We downloaded a lot of shows and games on the iPad to keep her occupied in the airport and even gave her her own head phones. We tried to limit her watch time, but it was great to have this to fall back on. Also we had some great stuff Evangeline's Pen Pal Madelyn sent for her trip. Monday morning we arrived in London at Heathrow International Airport and met up with Kasey one of the other students who was staying at our flat. Kasey, Greg, Evangeline and I took a cab to our flat in the Edgeware neighborhood (30 minutes from city center on the Northern Line). Our flat was great, it was a three bedroom three bathroom townhome with a sun room and outdoor patio.  We loved the neighborhood and all the fresh produce stands everywhere we went. Monday was basically shot because of out long trip. So we didn't really get out to see the sights until Tuesday morning. Evangeline and I headed to Green Park and Buckingham Palace and then to Kensington Park.

She spent a good amount of time in our ERGO carrier. A life send when we were in London, because the Tube stops don't always have elevators that are good for a stoller.

In Kensington Park we made it to the Peter Plan Themed Princess Diana Playground. We loved the giant swing and the water pond there.

Wednesday we went to the Tower of London with our Phd friends Joy, Kasey and Roma. We had a great time making fun of the Beefeater tour guide, seeing the crown jewels and learning about all the poor souls who died there.

Evangeline loved riding the train, especially when Joy was there to hang out with.

Starting school and growing up

Evangeline, Greg and I are all in school now. Evangeline is going to Daycare three days a week, she is in a class with two other kids and gets a lot of personal attention. She's also taking French classes twice a week at a local French immersion Preschool. She knows a few words already.
She's really growing into quite the toddler and we've started potty training. I boxed up the cloth diapers last week. She's in 18-24 month and some 2T clothes and size 6.5 toddler shoes.

Greg is teaching a large lecture and preparing for his comps the first week of October. These are five 4-hour-long exams with completely memorized content. We also celebrate Greg's 30th birthday on Tuesday.
Sorry this update is not longer, but I thought I would at least post some recent photos.
