10 Months of I love yous

Evangeline is in to everything, I love this one of her under a table.

Morning play time in her Mizzou Onesie.
Evangeline is close to 21 lbs, however, this month she had a stomach flu and lost a lot of weight. It was so hard for Greg and I to watch her sick, but with a lot of extra love and sleep she's almost fully recovered. I cannot believe I have a walking 10-month-old. She babbles and loves to dance. She's very fast.

Only two months until her birthday! Time goes by so quickly. I remember the last two months of my pregnancy very clearly, but they seemed more like two years than two months.
This month we visited Greg's mom-- Nana Candy--and Grandnana in Florida.

To wrap up the summer, we went on a portion of the Missouri Wine Tour. Well two of ten stops, Evangeline did not make it very far. We also celebrated a year in Missouri and of knowing our friends Brenda and Kyle, by going to Chipotle--where we first went the Saturday of birth class. I also happened to be Brenda's birthday.

We spent the week before classes cleaning up around the house and wrapping up summer projects. Evangeline got some quality mom and dad time in. Greg even painted the wall of the back porch and installed a new baby gate in the basement.

Evangeline loves to read on the Ipad with Greg in the morning and play her Dora alphabet game of course.
Evangeline went to her first two birthday parties this month for our neighbors Arlen and Sophie. She loved playing with all the kids.

Greg and I also started back to work and school this week. So having a sick baby and starting work/school made the week extra hard on our family.

It's the end my first official week in the Missouri Journalism Ph. D program. Although I am tired and my brain is a bit overloaded, I am so glad to have this opportunity. During orientation I made some new friends, and learned a lot about myself and Mizzou (that I did not know even though I've lived her over a year now).

I'm going to be spotty with blogging with the graduate school commitments, but I'll try my best to post something here periodically to keep you all updated.

Florida Summer Adventure

Here are some recent photos from our trip to visit Greg's Mom and Grandmother earlier this month. Greg's sister Edge surprised us and was there when we arrived. We even got to see some friends, and Evangeline took her first trip to the beach. It was a nice vacation before returning to the life of graduate school and work.

Evangeline loved watching the planes on the tarmac and the people loading luggage.

Saturday adventures

This morning Evangeline and I went to the Farmer's market, book store and lunch together. Then this evening we all hung out in the backyard. Greg and I even made s'mores on the fire pit he built.
Evangeline didn't eat a s'more but she accidentally got one stuck to her foot. It was so fun to watch her run around the yard with a graham cracker stuck to her foot. What a great day.

July Visitors

This month we had several visitors, we had an exchange student from Madrid, Spain--Almudena, our friends Stephanie and Tyler swung by on their way back to Texas from Iowa and my mom, Grandma Carri came to visit.  Here's some photos of our interactions with them.

Nine Month Stats

She moves quick, and is getting faster every day. For example: yesterday we took our eyes off the little miss for two minutes and she climbed to the top of the basement stairs.

Thankfully she did not try to climb down. She also chases after Greg and the dog. She is getting to the point where she is faster on her feet than crawling. I guess the crawling chapter was short.

I cannot believe she has grown up so fast. Evangeline had her nine month appointment this week. She is right on track. She is 29 inches tall and 20 pounds. She is eating a lot more (feeding five times a day and eating solids three times a day) and sleeping a lot less (she takes two 2 hour naps each day).

I love the baby food squeeze packs.
It's hard to believe that this week last year was the week Greg and I started painting the house and getting Evangeline's room ready. She's just now getting to enjoy the paintings and decorations that I worked so hard to hang and paint. Yesterday while I was rocking her to sleep she was transfixed by one of the birds in the blue bird mural I painted on the wall. Here's a link to the post I wrote about her room last August.
Intro to rock climbing from Grandma Carri
She is wearing 12 month clothes and size 3 shoes. This week I packed away a lot of really cute things, including her pink stripped swim suit (below) and Pink Polo outfit (above). I also realized that I now have three bins full of baby clothes that she has worn, and only one of the next size up. It's amazing how much she has grown.

Evan's eyes are still blue and her hair is a light brownish color with blonde and red highlights. So the verdict is still out as to who's hair it is. She has two teeth on the bottom and is starting to get some curls in the back.
