Catch Up Time

I feel like I am always playing catch up.  The month of June was a whirlwind with Greg teaching a Summer Class and me taking my last (required) class ever. We also took a few trips to St. Louis and my sister Sarah came to visit for a week. Our first trip was for a Cardinals/Nationals Game and to visit our friends the McCommis Family. Our second was to go to the St. Louis Science Museum with Aunt Sarah.

Sarah was so helpful helping us to organize and eliminate things from the downstairs area. We also had a lot of fun doing things together. So grateful she came to visit.

There are a lot of exciting things going on at the Perreault home as we prepare for our little P-Nut to arrive. We also will be welcoming Greg's sister Edgerly to Columbia in July as she took a job here with a local bank branch.

Here's a few photos of our June adventures.

Dinner out with PhD friends at Las Margaritas. E dressed accordingly.

Father's Day weekend at the Cardinals/Nationals Game.

We had a great time, and the Cardinals won. E loves baseball.

Spending time with our friend James after an overnight in St. Louis.

We love our friends James and Brenda. It was great to spend some quality time with them.

Family time at VBS "Wilderness Escape"

In Summer...

Our summer has been swell so far. Greg, Evangeline and I got a great vacation in Texas and Seattle. We got some quality time with family and friends and were able to recuperate for a crazy June. I'll post a few different posts with photos from our trip.

We took three weeks and drove down to Texas, and then Greg and I went to Seattle for work, and to celebrate out eight-year anniversary. Here's some highlights from our trip. Hard to believe we have less than 2 months until P-Nut arrives!

Visit from Grandparents

There has been a lot going on here this summer. Evangeline got a visit from her G'ma Rachel and Grandpa Jacques while I went to a conference in Colorado for work. It was great, and they helped Greg out a lot. Here's a book I made of their adventures while they were were.

Photo books are the perfect gift for any occasion.

Cates Family Reunion

This past month was a little busy with our trip to Arkansas and the United Kingdom, but we had a great time. We went to Arkansas the week before Father's Day for the Cates Family Reunion. My mother, Carri is a Cates, and her father had six siblings (four of which are still living). The reunion was for all of the siblings their kids, grandkids and great grand kids. I grew up with several of these cousins and second cousins and had not been to a reunion in 4 years (we have them every other year). Both my sisters and my brother-in-law were there, my parents were there, as well as aunts uncles and cousins. Here's some photos from our trip.
We stopped at Laura Ingalls Wilder's home on the way to Norfolk, AR,
Evangeline watching Sofia the First, this TV was wall mounted and she loved it.

18 month Update

Tomorrow we leave for two summer trips. Monday Evangeline finally had her 18 month appointment and did very well. She's grown up so quickly from a baby to a toddler. She is now 25 pounds and 32.5 inches tall.

Playing with our friends in the backyard.

Little mommy, Evangeline loves babies right now

After our recent trip to the ARC with friend Kai.

Favorite book right now has mirrors in it.

Reading books with Claire at her house.

Pulling the wagon with Claire.

Pool time

More adventures with Claire

Our new backyard playgym

Pool playdate with her Twin friends

She's been using a lot of new words including "outside, flowers, broccoli (for broccoli--we have broccoli growing in the garden, coffee and tea if Greg or I are drinking them.

Loves "colors" and "stickers" right now.
She's also great at identifying her favorite book and television characters and asking for them. These include Super "Wyatt"from Super Why, Elmo, Cookie, -Phia (Sophia the First), Sully (from Monster's Inc. --even though she's never seen the movie), Ralph, Felix and Glitch (from Wreck it Ralph), as well as Babies, Pigs, Cows and Monkeys--from a variety of books. She also recognizes specific places we visit on a regular basis with words:

1) When we pass the church and I say "Church" she says "slide" and "Swing" because of the church playground.
2) When we pass Panera Bread in the Mall or Downtown she asks for a "muffy" or "water"
3) When we come home she says "House" "dada" and "wylie"
4) When we visit the farmer's market she asks for "Slide" or "cookie" (there is an old plastic slide at the farmer's market).
5) She also recognizes her friends and their houses or the places we routinely see them. This has been difficult for me since two of her friends recently moved away.

She's also really into "colors" and "stickers" and asks for them routinely. Her artwork has gotten so much better in the past two weeks : ) She even made some masterpieces for her grandpa's for Father's Day.

We'll have a lot to post here in the next few weeks. For now here's some photos of our recent adventures at home in CoMo.
